This is a cyanotype of a very old doll from my wife's
collection. She is made of bisque and is very old and delicate and I think
that this old process complements her very well. The exposure was made in
shaded daylight with a large format Gandolfi camera that produces a 5 x 7
inch negative. This negative was then sandwiched with a sheet of good
quality watercolour paper that I had handcoated earlier and left to air
dry. As it was a very sunny day, the antique printing frame I use was left
in the sun and periodically checked to see how the image was printing-out.
This particular negative is quite dense and the exposure took about 25
minutes.
The actual print is much more detailed than the scan because of the small
file size involved in webpage creation.
