This is a view of the much abused watercourse at
Carpenters Road, Stratford, in the East End of London. The huge amount of
debris in the river was remarkable, and the partially submerged cars had a
surreal look about them in the morning sunshine, enhanced by the
juxtaposition of a large cigarette vending machine that came from who
knows where. This photograph was taken some years ago and I understand
that the area has since undergone a rejuvenation scheme.
The photograph is very detailed - much, much more so than the scan which
is a very poor copy because of the small file size involved.
