This picture has been produced from a solarised
negative. Solarisation - or, to to give it it's proper name of the
Sabatier Process - involves exposing a negative or photographic paper to
light part-way through the development stage. In this instance the
negative has been solarised, giving the photographer a little more control
over the printing process.
The photograph is very detailed - much, much more so than the scan which
is a very poor copy because of the small file size involved in webpage
creation.
